December 25, 2005:
Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

December 18, 2005:

Guess what, folks!?!?! It's snowing in Portland,
Oregon!!! We have about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground
with heavy gusts of bitter cold winds. I don't know if the
snow will last till Christmas but at least we got to play in the
snow this year. :-) The boys ran around outside with their
little friends for about an hour, throwing snowballs at each
other, making snow angels on the grounds and building a small
snow fort at the end of the driveway. Then they
finally came in for some nice yummy hot chocolate. Their
faces were red and raw, their fingers were practically
frost-bitten and they were completely covered in snow from head
to toe. I wouldn't have it any other way.... :-D
December 15, 2005:
Argh, I'm stressed... I just want to state for the record
that I'm currently experience a heavy dose of holiday stress.
It's 3:00pm and the only thing I've had to eat all day was two
peanut butter cookies. Not healthy. Bad, very bad.
As soon as I got the kids off to school this morning, I was out
the door to do some last minute holiday shopping. I also
had to get to class by 11:30am today. (I was a bit late,
oops.) Then I got this really cool idea for an x-mas gift
during class (when my mind should be on the knee joint lecture)
and so when class ended, I raced over to this place in
Beaverton to pick up said items and made it home just in time to
pick up the kids at the bus stop. *whew!*
***Now, them crazy kids are home...must get them a
snack.... must get them to practice their recital piece one more
time because their Christmas piano recital is in 1/2 hour...
must iron their dress shirts and put them in their holiday
best... must remember to bring the digital camera to take
pictures...must pick up dinner on the way home 'cuz there's
really no time to cook tonight... must give them baths after
dinner and then make sure homework is done and then it's off to
bed for the chibbles... *** <sigh>
December 6, 2005:
Kids can be really funny sometimes. They have their
own weird sense of humor. Case in point, so, DJ is curled
up on the living room couch fast asleep _snoring_ up a storm...
meanwhile, the boys are quietly playing in the same room:
Patrick: "Jarod, do you want to try something funny?"
*evil grinning smirk on his face*
Jarod: "Try what?" *oblivious to his silly antics*
Patrick: "Can you say,
'supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' .... um, right NOW!"
*giggle*
Jarod: "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!!" *with
a smug expression*
Patrick: "No, that was too slow. Do it again but
wait........um...and... NOW! *stifled laughter*
Jarod: "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!!"
*triumphantly*
Patrick: "No, no, you're doing it all wrong! You
have to say it BETWEEN Dad's snoring!"
Jarod: "Oh." *indifferent but feeling slightly
competitive*
Patrick: "Ready, GO!" *grinning ear-to-ear*
Jarod & Patrick: "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!!"
*both boys burst into fits of giggles*
December 3, 2005:
I updated the chibbles section with some new
pics... :)
*I did this as a kid, too!*
December 2, 2005:
Remember that
smiley-face that I found in my Ben & Jerry's Uncanny Cashew
ice cream last month? Well, DJ just sent me a
picture of even more ice-cream
smiley's... :-D
December 1, 2005:
I can't believe it's December already. Sheesh.
Time flies. It's like somebody pressed the fast-forward
button and things are zooming by at lighting speed. It's
gonna be a super-busy month for all of us. I have two
quizzes coming up next Tuesday and three weeks later, I'll be
cramming like crazy for my finals in Massage 2. Then I'll
be done for the semester, yay! The boys and I are trying
to come up with something fun/creative for DJ's birthday in a
couple of weeks. Hm, I'm open to any suggestions. I
also need to pick up the holiday picture cards of the boys and
start mailing out our holiday cards soon. I haven't done
any Christmas shopping yet and so hopefully I'll be able to do
some serious shopping next week after my quizzes are done.
We'll see how much I can get done... :)
What else... the boys are busy with projects and
presentations for school. Jarod's doing this great speech
thingie on M.C. Escher and Patrick's studying a science unit on
insects. They will also be participating in a Christmas
piano recital in a couple of weeks on the 15th of December.
I'm so glad they are still interested in playing the piano after
all these years. It's so wicked cool to listen to them
play! (I wish I could play an instrument!) I'll make sure
I take pics...
Oh, and last weekend, we put up our Christmas tree in the
front window. There's a radio station playing X-mas music
24/7 and so it's slowly starting to feel like Christmas
already... :)
